Phase 1 of the Garden Cleanup at Lithia Springs
Today the Gardening Club has begun the first phase of the plan to clean up Lithia Springs yard. For phase one the students worked together to collect yard waste that was scattered across the yard. As the students collected the waste they learned that the waste collected included weeds, flowers, grass clippings, and brush. By completing this phase the students are beginning the first steps that are required to allow the future vegetation in their landscape to live longer and grow healthier. This first step will allow the yard to become a clean slate so that all the other phases of the cleanup can be put in place so that the final product is as beautiful as all the students imagine it will be! While completing the phase the students had a good time with their friends learning about the collected waste as well as knowing that they were creating something beautiful that would last a very long time at their school.
