Popsicle Stick Catapults
Today the students at Lithia Springs were able to create mini catapults from plastic spoons, rubber bands, and popsicle sticks. To begin the activity, each student was directed to band the popsicle sticks together with rubber bands to create a simple machine called a catapult. Each student must keep what he or she knows about force and motion in mind in order to create the best catapult. The students enjoyed helping their friends to create the best mini catapult that would be able to toss items the farthest!
