BSAC (High 5) Selected as Finalist for Non-Profit of the Year!

The Greater Brandon Chamber of Commerce announced the finalists for its 2020 Business Excellence Awards this past week, and drum roll, please… BSAC/High 5 has been tapped as a finalist for their prestigious Non-Profit of the Year Award.

“This is a tremendous honor for our organization,” said CEO Chuck Burgess. “There are so many hard working, impactful and deserving non-profits in our area, and to be considered one of the best is a testament to our board team, leadership and staff teams, volunteers, donors, sponsors, partners and families that support us every day.”

The mission of the Chamber’s Annual Business Excellence Awards is to inspire Greater Brandon area businesses, non-profit organizations and individuals to seek excellence in all that they do by recognizing their achievements through the presentation of awards.

Through its 5-pillar focus, High 5 has established itself as a leader in Hillsborough County and beyond in areas such as youth drowning prevention, after school care, special needs education and vocation, sports and recreation and community impact.

“Our five pillars are focal points for societal impact,” Burgess said. “We do so many things for so many people in so many areas, there really are no limits to what we can achieve and the difference we can make.”

To be considered a finalist, local businesses were nominated by other businesses, business leaders or members of the chamber. They then had to fill out an application, be interviewed and assessed by an independent firm, SCORE, and then tapped by the Chamber based on SCORE’s results.

The 2020 Business Excellence Award Ceremony will take place on Thursday, July 30th at the Regent from 6:30PM – 9:30PM. Awards of Excellence will be given to the winners, based on the independent ranking of SCORE, in the business categories of: 1 – 5 employees, 6 – 20 employees, 21 and over employees, Emerging Business, Non-profit/government agency, and the Justin Kropff Excellence in Marketing award.
